MATERIAL DESCRIPTION: Infant Coin Box is a beautifully handcrafted wooden toy includes a wooden coins and a wooden box with a drawer. Infant Coin Box is a classic Montessori material that is introduced to infants once they can sit up independently, at approximately 6-12 months of age.
OBJECTIVE:This material aids in the child development of object permanence while also honing their hand-eye coordination fine motor skills, focus and concentration.
HOW TO PRESENT: To use the Infant coin box, an infant places a wooden coins into a hole located on the top of the box. The coin momentarily disappears into the box, but then reappears as it rolls out where it is then easily retrieved by the infant, although the coin fit’s in the hole in every position, your child needs to open the drawer to retrieve the coin, it doesn’t just roll out. A baby who is still actively developing an understanding of object permanence will often engage in long periods of repetition with this task, until mastery is achieved Babies like to play peek-a-boo for a reason! Watching their favorite face or toy disappear from sight and only reappear after a while is very attractive because it naturally attracts their evolving understanding of the persistence of objects.
